UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL

UNHRC

Imagine a family fleeing conflict, only to spend years in a refugee camp without access to education or stable work. Picture a child born to undocumented parents who cannot obtain identity papers, leaving them unable to attend school or receive healthcare. Others may be displaced within their own country, forced from their homes yet offered little protection.

This agenda focuses on the lives of people who cross borders or lose the protection of any nation, often finding themselves invisible within legal systems. It examines how governments treat immigrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and those who are stateless, people who may have no recognised citizenship and therefore no guaranteed rights.

Through these realities, delegates will assess how international laws and human rights frameworks can hold governments accountable, strengthen protections, and ensure that every person, regardless of status, is treated with dignity, safety, and legal recognition.
